Hawaii struggled to put the last item away right as her father entered the room. "H-hi, dad," Hawaii said, still struggling. America hoisted his daughter state up and then back down when she reached the shelf. "Thanks, dad," Hawaii said, smiling, "So where is everyone?" "They should be here soon," America reassured the young state. As if on cue, Missouri walked in with a smile on her face. "Little sis! Dad! What's up you guys?" she asked, pulling the two into a death-grip hug. "Hi, Missouri! Can you let us go before we suffocate?" Hawaii asked politely. "Wow! Such a big word for such a young state!" Missouri marveled, letting them go. North and South Dakota walked in, their faces beaded with sweat. "Hawaii. Girly... we love you... but your place is too damn hot," South Dakota muttered, taking his shirt off. Thank goodness he had a tank top on underneath. Missouri dug around in her bag and pulled out a small t-shirt. She tossed it to North Dakota. "There," she said, "That should fit you. It's probably for the best if you get out of those hot clothes." North Dakota smiled gratefully and went to Hawaii's bathroom to change. America smiled as he sat down at the table with his daughters and son. "I have something to show you all," America said, producing the photo album of all the states' baby photos. "D-dad," South Dakota said, nearly choking, "D-don't show those!" America scoffed, "Nonsense! Don't you want to see how your siblings looked when they were little?" North Dakota, who had just re-entered the room, laughed, "I wanna see how Missouri looked when she was little." "I looked like a ragamuffin," Missouri joked, watching her father turn to the first page. "There are your 13 oldest siblings... back when they were the original 13 colonies," America said, smiling, "And I was no older than they were. In fact, Delaware and I were the same age in that picture." "Really? Delaware is as old as you are?" Hawaii asked in awe. America nodded, laughing as he flipped to the next page. "Aww look! That's North and South Dakota with North and South Carolina. And that's Aunt Mexico holding Arizona," America said, looking at the twins happily. South Dakota groaned while North Dakota just giggled. The pages were turned again and now, in the picture, there was a little baby in America's arms and a little baby in France's arms. "Who are those two babies, dad?" Missouri asked. "Those two are Alaska and Hawaii when they were babies," America sighed, gazing at the picture. "Wait! What about Missouri? We haven't seen a baby photo of her!" South Dakota complained, still angry about the fact that his father had show everyone his baby photo. America flipped backwards in the book to a picture of a girl with a baseball cap on her head and a soccer ball in her little lap. "That was me... A tomboy even back then. Momma France tried to get my hair brushed, but I refused to have it be brushed," Missouri laughed, flipping the page for her father. The next picture was of Missouri and two little babies. "That's.... me.... and those two must be North and South Dakota!" Missouri said, smiling at South Dakota, "So I guess we weren't rivals back then...." "Guess not," South Dakota muttered, "But that doesn't change how things are now!" "Agreed," Missouri laughed.
