This is an untitled story I've been working on for the Creative Writing club at my school. They have yet to see it. I'm almost done with the second chapter~ The title of this work is the first chapter for now, but it will probably have an official name as time progresses. Maybe you all can help me out with the name~ XDAlright. Lemme just say that there are a TON of Hetalia names used in this story (Spain included in this of course XD)! But some are OC's with the last names of Hetalia characters. I'll tell you what countries they represent in some of my stories. But in this story, everyone is human~ XD This kinda reminds me of the Hunger Games. But it'll turn out differently! I promise!

I'll put Chapter 1 below~
Chapter 1: We Are Chosen
Chapter 1: We Are Chosen
Out of everyone… we are the ones chosen. What does it mean? It means that we have to fight for our lives. Ever since they became the rulers of the world, they want our countries to send a pair of siblings from each country; one boy and one girl. This year, it’s my brother… and me. We get onto the train and my eyes fill with tears as I watch my other siblings wave goodbye. It is then that I know that I might not ever return to them.
I grip the seat of the train car like it’s my last lifeline. My brother, Arturo, looks at me with his hazel eyes. I know this look. This is the same look he gave me at our mother’s funeral 8 years ago. He was 10, I was 8. We have another brother and two sisters waiting for us back home. We know that we have to win in order to see them again. “Va tutto bene[1]?” he asks me. I hear sadness behind his voice as he asks me the question in our native language. “Sì. Sono solo preoccupato[2],” I answer in the same language. Arturo looks at me again and laughs, “Posso dire, sorellina. Sembri un fantasma[3].” I look at my reflection and see that my brother is right. I do look like a ghost. My pale skin appears even more pale than normal. I feel my heart skip a beat as the train comes to a stop. “Perche 'ci fermiamo[4]?” I ask as I turn to face Arturo. “Un'altra tappa nella loro lista. Penso che siamo in Spagna[5],” Arturo replies in a disgusted tone. I sigh and watch as a little girl and an older boy get on the train. They look at us and I smile at them. They come over to us and sit down in the seat in front of us. The girl turns around to face me and Arturo. “Hola. Mi nombre es Luisa. Este es mi hermano mayor Antonio[6],” the girl says in Spanish. I tilt my head quizzically. “Oh! Right! You don’t speak Spanish! Sorry! My name’s Luisa. This is Antonio. He’s my older brother,” the girl says quickly. Antonio turns around to say his hello and I feel my heart skip a beat. His eyes looked like my older sister’s. “Hey. My name’s Antonio. What are your names?” he asks. I’m too stunned to reply in English. I suddenly start blurting out things in Italian. “Ciao! Mi chiamo Imilia! Ho 16 anni. Questo è un vecchio mio fratello Arturo. Ha 18 anni. Sai, mi ricordi la mia sorella maggiore! Ha gli occhi verdi troppo[7]!” I reply, covering my mouth after saying the last sentence. Arturo begins to laugh at me. “Stai zitto idiota! Non fare che ti ha colpito[8]!” I yell at him. Arturo just continues to laugh as he replies, “Non mi ha colpito[9].” Then he turns to the two Spaniards and says in English, “I'm sorry. My sister likes to run her mouth... a lot. My name's Arturo and this is Imilia. She is 16 and I am 18. It's nice to meet you, Antonio and Luisa.” The train begins to move again and I feel less tense than I was when I first got on the train. The train makes a u-turn and begins heading for Germany. Yet another sibling couple joins us. The girl and boy both have blond hair and blue eyes. The boy wears his hair slicked back. The girl looks around nervously. They take the seat behind us. “Hallo. Was sind eure Namen[10]?” the boy asks. I stare at him, confused by what he had just said. “Oh bruder! Don't you know? They obviously don't speak German. Just look at the way this girl's looking at you!” the girl laughs, “Sorry. My brother speaks our native language more often than not. My name is Lilo. This is my older brother Ludwig. What are your names?” “My name's Imilia. This is my brother Arturo. These two in front of me are Luisa and Antonio. It's nice to meet you all,” I say, a smile gracing my face.
The rest of the train ride is quiet as we all think of the fate we share. Once the train makes its last stop in Belgium, we all get off and head for the boat docks. From there, we hop aboard the boat and head towards England. Our destinies lie there... and for many of us, our deaths will be there also. I clutch my brother's hand tightly as we pass through the gates of London. The guards all have their eyes on us, specifically the Germans, the Japanese, and the Italians... us. All I can think of is World War 2... the Axis Powers. I look up at my brother and for a moment, our eyes lock. Before I can say anything to him, he turns to face forward once more. Disheartened, I face forward as well as we make our way into the Grand Hall. It is here that we learn of what will happen to us. I look around and I count each person I see. Counting myself and Arturo, I count a total of 24 girls and boys in the room. Then, I try to remember all of the races. Italian... Japanese... Chinese... Russian... Norwegian... German... Belgian... Spanish... Polish... Hungarian... Finnish... Swedish. 12 countries... I can't believe it. “You now have time to get to know everyone. There will be 10 minute intervals where you get to know a person. I have selected the starting partners at random. The first pairing is... Ivan Braginski and Lilo Beilschmidt,” a man says over the loudspeaker. Lilo gives me a quick look of fear before following Ivan into the next room. “Second pairing... Arturo Ricci and Kari Bondevik,” the man says. I turn to face my brother, who is already heading towards the Norwegian girl. “Skal vi gå[11]?” I hear the girl, Kari, ask my brother. Arturo just shrugs, as he is unable to translate what she has just asked. Eventually, there are only four of us left in the room: me, Antonio, Ludwig, and the Japanese girl. “Imilia Ricci...,” the man calls. I feel my breathing get shallow. “...and Antonio Fernandez-Carriedo,” he finishes. I sigh, relieved to have gotten Antonio. We go into the room and the questioning begins.
After the questioning, the girls go to their rooms and the boys go to theirs. The rooms are in separate buildings. The reasoning for this is so that we don't try to escape with our brother or sister. All the girls decide to gather in a circle and introduce themselves. I sit in between Lilo and Luisa, feeling safer there. “Alright, alle[12]. Time to introduce ourselves. I'll start. My name is Kari Bondevik. I'm Norwegian,” Kari says, turning to face the Japanese girl next to her. “Minasan, kon'nichiwa. Watashi no namae yuki no Hondadesu[13],” the girl says quietly before realizing that we have no clue what she is saying. So she adds, “My name's Yuki Honda.” As the circle goes on, I quickly memorize their names. Kari Bondevik, Yuki Honda, Mei-Lien Wang, Natalia Arlovskaya, Elizabeta Héderváry, Anri Verstraeten, Marzena Łukasiewicz, Lilo Beilschmidt, Imilia Ricci (myself), Luisa Fernandez-Carriedo, Seija Väinämöinen, and Asrid Oxenstierna. I walk over to Asrid and Seija, who are talking amongst themselves. “H-hello. My name is Imilia,” I say. Seija smiles at me, replying, “Yes. We know. My name is Seija and this is Asrid.” I smile back at them and ask, “Can I join your conversation?” Asrid nods and I begin to talk with them while secretly bracing myself for what tomorrow might bring.
